Nepal reports highest single-day COVID-19 deaths of 225

5,225 patients got over disease in past 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, May 11: Nepal, which reported the first death due to COVID-19 infection on May 16 last year, confirmed the highest number deaths in a single day on Tuesday. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 225 new deaths were added in the past 24 hours. 

With this, Nepal’s corona death tally has surpassed a grim 4,000-mark. The total number of deaths hit 4,084. 

Meanwhile, Nepal reported a total of 9,483 new cases of the disease taking the country’s caseload to 413,111. As many as 75.5 percent of the total infections have so far recovered from the disease, according to the ministry, which accounts for 312,019. A total of 5,225 patients got over the disease in the past 24 hours. 

Nearly 100,000 thousand people are yet to recover from the disease . There are a total of 97,008 active cases of the disease across the country.
