Lama led officials assume responsibility in NRNA Japan
Tokyo (Japan) - A new leadership assumed responsibilities at the Non Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA), Japan on Sunday.
The new office bearers took oath of office and secrecy after a long fought battle resulting from dissatisfaction from those who lost the election.
The newly elected Chairman of the executive committee, Tashi Wangdi Lama, also assumed office. The committee comprises Devi Lal Bhandari, Shiva Prasad Poudel, Saroj Kumar Khatri and Anita Gurung as senior vice chairpersons, vice chairman and woman vice chairman respectively. Among them Poudel and Khatri were elected while Bhandari and Gurung were nominated with a general consensus.
Meanwhile, Anita Lama, Budhi Raj Ghimire and Janak Bikram Shahi were elected Treasurer, General Secretary and Secretary respectively. Shahi was elected whereas Ram Bahadur Thapa was nominated as the sole candidate as Joint Treasurer. The outgoing Chairman Sudan Thapa on Monday handed over the leadership to Lama and the new officials.
