Divorce cases increase in Rupandehi

Khasyeuli–Divorce cases have increased in Rupandehi. As the District Court Rupandehi said, foreign employment, alcohol consumption, drug abuse and failed love marriage are the apparent common causes contributing to the increased number of divorce cases lately in the district.

During the fiscal year 2074-75 BS, the court had registered 631 appeals seeking the legal dissolution of marriage and of them, only 502 cases had been settled.

It means that 129 couples have been waiting the court order since one or two years for the split. Similarly, 727 divorce cases, more by 86 than in the previous year, had been filed at the court last fiscal year (2075-76 BS) and of them, the court had given its final decision on 492 cases, said court registrar Netra Bhusal. Most couples seeking an end to their conjugal life belong to 20-30 age group, it is said.
