Govt missing historic opportunity: leader Yadav

Kathmandu–Presidium coordinator of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, Raj Kishor Yadav, has said the government must advance to fulfill people's aspiration for change and economic prosperity by utilizing the historic opportunity. However, the government failed to work for people's aspiration, he blamed.

At a programme organized by Reporters' Club here today, coordinator Yadav further said economic situation was enfeebled because Nepal Rastra Bank had the currency reserve for only eight months; the trade loss and inflation were growing and NEPSE indicators falling.

In a different note, he argued that the constitution was incomplete and only option at present was to amend it. If the government ignores it, another agitation would be launched, he warned. Similarly, leader Yadav demanded that government formed a disaster authority to solve the problems of landslides and floods.

Even a policy on rainwater harvesting was imperative, the coordinator suggested. According to him, his party would welcome any party having similar principles and views.

The RJP Nepal has already announced its general convention, he said, adding that it would strengthen the party policy and principles. He also pointed out the need of robust opposition in the parliament. For this, RJP Nepal would cooperate with the major opposition, Nepali Congress, he added.
