MC’s Chair Dahal proposes to discuss note of dissent on decision to endorse MCC compact after local elections
KATHMANDU, March 7: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has proposed to discuss the note of dissent registered by leaders of the party on the party’s decision to endorse the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Nepal compact after the local level elections.
Three leaders of the party, Dev Gurung, Lilamani Pokhrel and Krishna Bahadur Mahara, have registered a note of dissent on the party’s decision to endorse the MCC compact.
“Other parties have already begun preparations for the election. We also have to begin preparations soon. So let's discuss the note of dissent after the local level elections,” Dahal said during the central committee meeting.
Earlier, the CPN (Maoist Center) supported the government to ratify the MCC compact with an interpretive declaration which has created a row among leaders of the party.
