S.Korean president holds meeting with Saudi crown prince in Seoul

SEOUL– South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Wednesday held a meeting in Seoul with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, according to the South Korean presidential Blue House.

The crown prince arrived here earlier in the day for his first trip to the country for two days, marking the first visit by a Saudi crown prince in 21 years since 1998.

They held a one-on-one meeting in the presidential complex, and an extended meeting involving their aides.

According to the joint statement following the meeting, the countries agreed to continue an expanded cooperation into various fields, including the information and communication technology (ICT), healthcare, culture and education, beyond the traditional cooperation sectors such as construction and energy.

The two countries also agreed to strengthen cooperation in diplomacy, defense and the defense industry.
