Parashuramdham–A 13-year-old girl was killed by lightning strike at Parashuram municipality-3 this morning.
Three other people have been injured in the disaster. Sangeeta Bhat of Marku in the municipality was critically injured after lightning struck her at her house.
She died on the way to hospital, the Area Police Office, Jogbuda stated. The girl was getting ready to go to school when she was struck by the thunderbolt at 7 am. She is an eighth grader at local Bhageshwar Secondary School.
Those injured by lightning include 40-year-old Bharat Bista, 50-year-old Mahadev Bhatta and 15-year-old Meena Bhat of the same place, Inspector Ishwori Datta Pandeya at the Area Police Office Jogbuda said. Among those injured, Bista is said to be in serious condition.
