Police make public eight dacoits

Janakpurdham–The District Police Office, Dhanusha made public eight dacoits amid a press conference here today.

The looters have been identified as Sanjaya Kumar Shah, Sahil Rajak, Sujit Kumar Raya, Amit Kumar Singh, Amit Kumar Yadav and Ranjit Kumar Bhagat, all Indian nationals.

A joint team from the police headquarter, the state police office, the federal police office and the district police office encircled and arrested the looters acting on a tip off that a group of eight looters, who came from Bihar, India, on two motorcycles and a scooter with Indian number plates with a plan to loot a jewellery shop in Janaki Vihar of Janakpurdham sub metropolitan city bordering Indian village of Bihar—were living in a local hotel.

An Indian national Rabi Malik Dom was injured in the cross-firing between the police and the looters that took place in the police's attempt to arrest them. Dom is receiving treatment at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital.

The police also recovered a single bullet pistol, a single bullet country made pistol, some bullets, two Indian number plate motorcycles and a scooter from the incident site.
