Government accused of not acknowledging federalism

Bhiduttanagar–Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has accused the government of overlooking the issues and essence of federalism.

Speaking at a programme at Bhimduttanagar, Kanchanpur today, the leader from the main opposition claimed that the people in the government were still guided by the centralised mindset, and it would likely cause the devaluation of the significance of federalism.

He went to say that he was making efforts to promote the politics of ideology and principle in the party instead of confining to any certain class or geography.

He took time to urge the government to resume investigation into the killing of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta of Bhimduttangar-2 some eleven months ago.

“It is a matter of concern that killer(s) is/are not ascertained yet”, he said, asserting the need for ensuring justice to the victim.

Earlier today, leader Poudel visited Nirmala’s home and met with her mother Durga Devi Panta.
