Ratopati News Impact: 11 year old child rescued

11 year old child who was forced to stay in goat shed has been rescued from Tarkeshwor Municipality-10, Kathmandu on Sunday.

He was rescued after Ratopati nepali edition on Saturday published news regarding child's situation. With the help of Lawyer cum social worker Raju Thapa and local Rajesh Khakurel, the non profit organisation 'Manav Sewa Ashram' rescued him.  

Originally from Khadgabhanjyang of Nuwakot's Tarkeshwor Rural Municipality-6, Mandip Duwadi,11, has been living in the shed for the past 2 months.

 Mandip, a mentally impaired boy, has been handed over to Ashram in the presence of ward's chairperson Amrit Thapa.

Ward's Chairperson Thapa thanks Manav Sewa Ashram for rescuing Mandip and assures necessary help from ward.

Currently, Mandip is in Ashram's Samakhusi branch. Manav Sewa Ashram's province 3 co-ordinator Suman Bartaula assures to commence his health checkup from day one in Ashram.

Bartaula informs that Ashram helps the person who is mainly in need.

He said, ' Madip will be kept in the Ashram until needed. If his family become able to look after him in future, we will send him, otherwise he will be with us.'

Madip's grandfather Lilaballav Duwadi thanks Ashram along with Ratopati for rescuing his grandson.

Ratopati's desk editor Rajkumar Sigdel, reporter Sujan Panta, local Rajesh Khakurel, lawyer cum social worker Raju Thapa were present  when Madip was being rescued.

Mandip is mentally and physically impaired by birth. He frequently mumbles and laughs. Most of the time he is seemed to be frightened. He cannot speak.
