We will further strengthen local governments: Minister Bista

Galkot– Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, has said the present government was vigorously working to further strengthen the local government.

Speaking in a reception organised by the Galkot municipality of Baglung district here today, he said the local governments would be made more responsible to end the practice of the projects undertaken by the central government becoming ineffective at the local level.

He said development works are expedited when the local governments were asked to carry out the works and therefore all projects except big ones would be implemented through the local governments themselves.

The Minister also committed to increase the scope of the social security.

On the occasion, Galkot municipality mayor Bharat Shrma Gaire apprised the minister about the acquisition of land for construction of the municipality office and hospital, and the parameters of the Lokmarga highway.
