Attempts to forge consensus to form centrals departments in NC

Kathmandu– Discussion to forge consensus for the formation of central departments as per party's statute was held in the meeting of office-bearers of the Nepali Congress held today.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba initiated to forge consensus in this regard during the meeting held at Deuba resident, Budhanilkantha, said NC Spokesperson, Bishwo Prakash Sharma.

A total of 28 central departments should be formed as per party's new statute. The central departments have not been formed so far even after three years since the party's 13th general convention.

The central working committee of the NC scheduled for last Saturday was postponed after top leaders failed to forge consensus on agenda of the meeting. Though the party President Deuba has authority to form departments, discussion was held to forge consensus of all, said NC Vice-President Bimalendra Nidhi.

Saying it was not necessary to hold central committee meeting to appoint coordinator of the departments, leader Nidhi said that preparation was underway to appoint coordinators before the next meeting.

Present in the meeting were President Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Vice-Presidents-- Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and Nidhi, General Secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala and Spokesperson Sharma.
