Weather remains affected for three days

Kathmandu–The weather will remain cloudy throughout the country for the next three days with chances of rain in most places due to the influence of the low pressure system forming in the east and the local wind.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that the influence of weak low pressure belt that developed in the east since last night and the moisture-laden wind that came from the Bay of Bengal as well as the local wind will cause cloudy conditions and light to moderate rainfall.

According to the Division's meteorologist Manju Basi, this system will gradually develop and remain until Saturday. Basi said the weather will remain fair with sunshine for some time in the Kathmandu valley today while it will not immediately become fair in the rest of the country.

Partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the eastern and central parts at night with the possibility of brief rain accompanied by thunder at one or two places of the western part of the country. On Friday, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the central part of the country with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some places of the western region.

Similarly, the weather will be generally to completely cloudy in most parts of the country with chances of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder in some places on Saturday. There is likelihood of moderate snowfall in some places of the high mountainous region on Saturday, the Division stated.

As per the latest weather data provided by the Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu valley today was 14.8 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was 26.6 degrees Celsius. The highest maximum temperature of 35.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dhangadhi.
