80 percent progress in bridge construction

Kathmandu–The government has set a target of completing the constructions of 120 bridges in the current fiscal year. Till the past eight and half months, 80 percent progress has been achieved as projects relating to 94 bridges have been already completed. According to Spokesperson at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Shibahari Sapkota, in case of some projects, targets were met before the deadline.

The government plans to complete the constructions of at least 200 bridges in the next fiscal year. No hurdles in the construction sites and regularity on works by contractors had led to the completion of some projects before the deadline. Kamala, Marin, Bheri and Jayaramghat are among those rivers witnessing the completion of bridges before the deadline.
