Investment Summit kicks off

Kathmandu– The Investment Summit, organised to attract foreign investments to serve the government's goal of economic prosperity, has kicked off in the capital city of Kathmandu this morning. 


Prime Minster KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the Summit at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza in Kathmandu. 
Total 77 projects including 50 from the government and 27 from private sector are being showcased in the Summit. 
Security situation has been beefed up in Kathmandu targeting the Summit. 


The Summit is expected to be a milestone to materialise the government's campaign 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' and attain Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 
As many as 600 investors including high-level delegates from 40 countries are taking part in the Summit. Likewise, there is a remarkable presence of the representatives of Non-Resident Nepalese Association and domestic investors. 
Through the Summit, the government is trying to impart a message of building New Nepal. Foreign investors are anticipated to get attracted to Nepal as the country has enabling environment for industry and business as well as abundant natural resources and means. 


Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada delivered welcome remarks and also informed about programme and areas of investment for development and prosperity. ---
