Govt-CK talks positive: NC President Deuba

Beni– Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the talks government held with CK Raut were positive development. 


During a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union Myagdi chapter here today, NC President Deuba reiterated, "It is positive indeed to bring the secessionist group into the mainstream politics in a peaceful way." 
He however said the term 'jana abhimat' used in agreement forged between government and CK Raut could not be accepted as 'janamatsangraha' (referendum). "I've heard the government made agreement with the agitating CK Raut, but not read all points. Referendum can not be held on any territory of Nepal," the President underscored. 
Also the former Prime Minister, NC President Deuba demanded the government that it made clear the vague point. 
On a different note, he said he had not usurped anyone's rights in the party. 


"I'm working in line with party statute. Any leader can join the internal competition. Anyone can fight the election. I'm always ready to forge unity," he said indicating to the disgruntled group within his party. 


Moreover, he admitted that the age limit and election were disputed issues on Nepal Student Union. However, the party treats these issues in line with party rule. 


According to him, it was not possible to declare Nepal a Hindu state because the Nepali citizens have the right to enjoy any religion they want to.
