Damauli– Health workers serving the GP Koirala National Respiration Treatment Centre based in Shuklagandaki Municipality-5, Belchautara, Tanahun have voiced their complaint for not getting salary over four months.
57 out of 60 staffs and health workers of the hospital on contract basis have complained they did not get salary since mid-September. Only three health workers are serving the hospital on deputation.
Puja Karki, non-gazetted first class officer working at administration section of the hospital, said they were facing trouble for not getting salary since long.
Karki, hailing from Sindhuli, said they are compelled to ask money from family members for daily subsistence. "I am managing my livelihood expenses from home despite being an employee".
Dr Raj Kumar Shrestha, chief of treatment centre of the hospital, said they could not provide salary to health workers as the government has not appropriated budget for the hospital. ---
