Three men die from 'alcohol poisoning' in Rukum

Rukum ,West –Three people were suspected to have died in Rukum (West) areas from consumption of tainted alcohol, said the District Police Office (DPO), Rukum (West). 


The deceased are Khambu Kami, 63, of Sanabheri Rural Municipality-9, Maman Singh Karki, 54, of Musikot Municipality-11 and Palak Bahadur BK, 21, of Musikot Municipality-12. 


“The deceased were learned to have slept drinking liquor named Orange,” said DPO, Rukum West’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sumit Khadka. Police have suspected the consumption of adulterated alcohol to be a reason behind their deaths. 


According to DSP Khadka, they were waiting for the reports of post-mortem examinations to determine the actual cause of their deaths. 


The deceased ones had arrived at Jumlang of Muskot Municipality-12 in the district to attend a wedding ceremony. They had gone to bed after feasting and drinking alcohol. 


Two others who had joined them in their drinking spree however remained unharmed by the liquor, police said.
