Blacktopping Puraina-Suiya Bagauda road under Postal Highway begins

Nepalgunj–Blacktopping the 44.6 kilometers Puraina-Suiya Bagauda under the Postal Highway has begun. The first phase of blacktopping one and a half kilometers road has been complete, said engineer Tulasiram Bhandari. 

The task of covering the road with a blacktop will be over in the next eight months if the government releases budget timely, he said. "But the areas where there is dispute relating to land acquisition will be left without a blacktop," he said. 

Meanwhile, the locals have protested demanding that the road from Shivachowk to Puraina should be 11 meters width instead of seven meters. They have also demanded the pulling down of some houses and structures within the periphery of the road. ---
