'Communications have important role for political change'

Pokhara– Minister of Gandaki Province for Social Development Naradevi Pun has recognised communications as having an important role for a political change. "Journalism ahead should devote itself to the prosperity of society," she said while inaugurating the province's fifth convention of the Sancharika Samuha Nepal, a forum for women communicators, here on Saturday. 

Likewise on the occasion, member of Gandaki State Assembly Mina Gurung said women journalists should play their role to end discriminations against women. 

Also, other speakers like the state assembly member Rajib Pahari, central member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Ram Krishna Gyawali, province president Tribhuvan Poudel, district president Dipendra Shrestha, Vice Chairperson of the Samuha, Gandaki Province Bimala Bhandari and general secretary Kabita Shrestha viewed that women should pursue journalism to end gender-based discriminations.
