Israeli forces kill Palestinian murder suspect: officials

JERUSALEM–Israeli forces on Thursday killed a Palestinian suspected of murdering two Israelis in the occupied West Bank, following a two-month manhunt, officials said.

Ashraf Naalwa was suspected of killing a 28-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man in the Barkan industrial zone of the West Bank in October.

He was killed when forces tried to arrest him, the Israeli security agency Shin Bet said in a statement.
The house near the northern West Bank city of Nablus where Naalwa was allegedly found was peppered with bullet holes after the operation, with furniture destroyed, an AFP journalist at the scene said.

Local resident Huwayda Bushkar said she saw Israeli soldiers carrying a body as they left.In its statement, the Shin Bet said he was about to carry out a new attack when he was found.

On October 7, the 23-year-old Palestinian allegedly shot and killed two civilians, Kim Levengrond Yehezhel and Ziv Hagbi, two employees of the recycling company where he worked. Another colleague was hurt.

The Israeli army described it at the time as a "lone wolf" attack, that is acting without the instigation or support of an organisation.

The Shin Bet also announced that a Palestinian suspected of causing the death of an Israeli baby by shooting Sunday at his pregnant mother was killed overnight Wednesday during a raid by Israeli forces in the West Bank.
