NTC's microwave radio link expands across Upper Mustang

Baglung– Nepal Telecom has expanded the access of microwave radio link across the Upper Mustang.
The link, a wireless communication technology that uses high frequency beams of radio waves to provide high speed wireless connections, has replaced satellite technology.

The service has started at Lo Manthang, Ghami, Charang, Surkhang, Chhusang, Samar and Syangboche by setting up GSM and BTS towers, said senior engineer at the NTC branch office Keshab Sharma.

"Following the implementation of the service, there are significant improvements in the availability of mobile network and voice and data service provided by the NTC," he said. The service has also helped cut additional financial burden suffered by the NTC, he added.
