Chief Minister Pokhrel’s message on International Human Rights Day

Rupandehi–Chief Minister of Province 5, Shanker Pokhrel, has said the goal of provincial government is to build a just and equitable society through the path of development and prosperity. 

In his message given on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day today, he underscored the need of implementing the provisions on fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution now that the three tiers of elections have been held and the main law of the land was in the phase of full execution. 

Explaining that the constitution has laid emphasis on respect, protection and promotion of human rights, the Chief Minister said, “The opportunity has come before us wherein the people of all communities, classes and castes would be able to exercise the rights that have practically been achieved as the constitution moves toward implementation.” 

Human rights would be practically established if happiness could be brought to the face of citizens through prosperity, he added.
