Fire guts teashop in refugee camp

Urlabari–A teashop run by a Bhutanese refugee at the Shanishchare-based refugee camp in Pathari Shanishchare Municipality, Morang was gutted to cinder following a fire that happened last night. 


Police Inspector Kamal Bajgain said that property worth Rs 150,000 was destroyed after the teashop and sweets house run by Tek Bahadur Rai, 40, of Sector K-3 Hut No. 14 at the camp was caught with the fire.

Rai was earning his families’ living from the same shop, it is said. According to camp’s secretary Champa Singh Rai, the reason behind the fire is not confirmed yet. The fire was brought under control with the help of locals, security personnel and the fire fighters.
