KMC to ensure uniformity in Uniform Code for Kathmandu's school students

Kathmandu –The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is preparing to implement the new rule for the school uniform for students in all community schools in Kathmandu. 


The Education Department of the KMC is trying to ensure uniformity in the school uniform code for students for all community schools by implementing the same uniform code for the students. 


There are around 91 community schools and 640 privately run schools in Kathmandu where 65,000 students are pursuing studies. 


Education Department's Education officer Sitaram Adhikari said, "All the community schools in Kathmandu will implement the same uniform code for the students." 


He added that it is very difficult to achieve cent per cent result at a time. So, we aim to achieve this target within 3-4 years." 


The Department will hold consultations with the office-bearers of the School Management Committee, Student Unions, Parents and teachers regarding what kind of school uniform code to be implemented, according to Adhikari


Furthermore, the uniform academic calendar would be implementing in all such schools in Kathmandu. 
However, the calendar may not be implemented in the schools run by the foreign diplomatic missions in Kathmandu.
