Nepal lose to India by 171 runs in U19 Asia Cup

Kathmandu –Nepal lost to India by 171 runs in its first match under the U19 Asia Cup underway in Bangladesh. Put into bat first, India made 305 runs for nine in the allotted 50 overs. In the target chase, Nepal was dismissed in 36.5 overs only for 133 runs. For India, Yashasvi Jaiswal made the highest 104 runs, while wicket-keeper Prabhsimran Singh 84. Likewise, Aayush Badoni hit 33 and Devdutta Padikkal 30. Bhim Sarki and Rashid Khan claimed two wickets each. Likewise, Siddhartha Desai and Harsha Tyagi took three wickets each. 


For Nepal, Captain Mohammad Aashif Shekh made 25 runs, while Rohit Kumar Poudel 24, Sandip Jora 20, Rabindra Shahi 16 and Rabi Sah 11. 


Nepal will face Afghanistan on October 1 and United Arab Emirates on October 2 in its second and third matches respectively.
