Two unidentified persons shoot dead man in Sunsari

Inaruwa, Sunsari – A group of two unidentified persons today shot dead a man at Harinagar Rural Municipality in Sunsari. The deceased has been identified as local resident Maulana Khursid Ansari, 56. 

Two persons on a motorcycle with the Indian number plate from a neighbouring Indian town shot at Ansari in the head and chest and fled the scene shortly, said the police.  

A head constable Shivalal Poudel was also shot at in the incident. Ansari had come out to tour the local Bhutaha bazaar when the shooting took place. 

Poudel was shot at while trying to nab the fleeing shooters. He was shot in the legs and abdomen. Poudel has been sent to Biratnagar for treatment. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, said Superintendent of Police Rajan Adhikari.
