Lawmaker Kandel elected Campus Chair in India

Nawalparasi –Member of Parliament Devendra Raj Kandel has been elected the chairman of the management committee of a college in India. 

He was elected the Chair (manager) of the management committee of Radha Kumari Inter College at Thuthibari, Maharajgunj District of India. The Maharajgunj District borders with Nawalparasi district of Nepal. 

Before this, Kandel's grandmother, the late Radha Kumari, and father, the late Prithvi Raj Kandel, were the Chairperson (manager) of the Inter College. The post had remained vacant for about 10 years until MP Kandel's election to the post. 

Kandel edged Rajesh Singh, the Chief of the Thuthibari Gram Panchayat, in the election held on Wednesday for the post of the Chairman (manager) of the Radha Kumari Inter College management committee. He secured six votes and Singh polled four votes. 

The newly-elected Chair (manager) Kandel said his focus would be to further improve the standard of education at the college. 

The college which was established as a school in 1952 is most renowned educational institutions in Maharajgunj District. Students from areas on the Nepal-India border study in this college.
