Constitution has guaranteed human rights and press freedom: CM Poudel

 

Hetauda –Province No 3 government chief minister Dormani Poudel has said the Constitution of Nepal has protected the right to press freedom and to open political parties for guaranteeing human rights. 


Chief Minister Poudel said this while addressing a programme organised by the Constitution Day Celebration Province 3 Main Committee here today on the occasion of the Fourth Constitution Day. 


He said the province government was actively working to achieve economic prosperity for the people by consolidating the parliamentary democracy. Chief Minister Poudel added that the province government has directed the related local levels to provide the necessary services and facilities to the people in a smooth and accessible manner. 


Province minister for internal affairs and law Shalikram Jamakattel called o the Tarai-centred political parties to internalize the spirit of the constitution and work to protect the fundamental rights of the people. He urged them to work for the economic betterment of the people of the Tarai Madhes. 


On the occasion, Chief Minister Poudel feted the parents of Basudev Ghimire who attained martyrdom during the people's movement and Ram Maya Pakhrin, the widow of martyr Rudra Pakhrin, by presenting them with Rs 5,000 and shawls. 


Before this, a procession was organized in the morning to mark the Constitution Day.
