Pokhara to be developed as educational hub: CM Gurung

Pokhara –Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that Pokhara would be developed as the educational hub of international-standard. 


At a programme organised by District Coordination Committee, Kaski, here today in honour of four schools of Kaski awarded by the government on the occasion of Constitution Day, Chief Minister Gurung said Pokhara is the place having all types of possibilities. 


Saying educational institutions would be established in Pokhara to provide timely quality education, he said a target has been set to develop Pokhara as the top fifth educational place of South Asia within coming 20 years. 


The Chief Minister pointed out that quality in education was possible only from collective efforts. Stressing that Pokhara would be made as the centre of attraction of domestic and foreign students by establishing Gandaki Province University, he added such institution should be run from academic sector not from political one. 


On the occasion, Chief Minister Gurung honoured Shitaladevi Secondary School towards Community, Motherland Secondary School towards private, Prithvi Narayan Campus towards constituent campus of the Tribhuvan University and Amar Singh Secondary School towards +2.
