Govt committed to development of religious trusts: CP Subba

Pokhara – Chief Minister of Gandaki Prithivi Subba Gurung has reaffirmed his government's commitment for the development, conservation and promotion of religious trusts. 

Inaugurating Astabhujakar Shiva Kunda and Pancha Dhara in a programme organized by the Bindabasini Religious Area Development Committee in Pokhara today, CM Subba called for ending the social disparity, inequality and poverty. 

The Astabhujakar Shiva Kunda (eight-sided pond in the name of Lord Shiva) and Pancha Dhara (Five taps) were constructed by the family of social worker Sushil Kumar Joshil in the memory of his father Shivananda Joshi. The religious infrastructures were built at the cost of Rs 7 million. 

Joshil family today handed over them to the Bindyabasini Area Development Committee. 
Stating that Gandaki was ahead from physical, social and cultural point of view, Subba expressed his confidence towards the conservation of civilization and cultures in this province which he argued would contribute towards promotion of tourism. 

Stating that the provincial government was working towards the formulation of necessary laws, State Assembly member Meena Gurung called for cooperation from all communities and from all areas for the same. 

Similarly, Bindyabasini Religious Area Development Area Chairperson Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha opined that the physical infrastructures constructed by the Joshil family in the Bidyabashini Garden had added to the Pokhara's attraction. 

Likewise, cultural expert and Committee's Secretary Tirtha Shrestha shared that the Committee was gearing up in the construction of a Bidhyapith (School) residential hostel with a capacity of 100 students across 26 ropani area of the Temple's Trust. 

The school cum residence is estimated to cost Rs 130 million and the state government has allocated Rs 10.25 million for the same. (Photo available)
