' Govt will implement agreements with Dr KC,' Minister Adhikari

Pokhara –Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari has asserted that the government would implement the agreements reached between the government and Dr Govinda KC who on Thursday ended his 15th hunger strike after a consensus forged between the government and him. 


Inaugurating the silver jubilee celebration of Surya Chandra Development Society at Malepatan in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-5 in Kaski district today, Minister Adhikari reiterated that the agreements would be brought into effect on the contrary to what had happened in the past. 


No agreements made with Dr KC by previous governments during his earlier hunger strikes were well implemented, compelling the senior orthopedic surgeon to take to fast-unto-death over and again. 


Assuring on the timely completion of the under-construction Pokhara Regional International Airport, Adhikari argued that the Airport would contribute to the development and promotion of tourism in this area. 


Minister Adhikari also inaugurated the Suryachandra Batika (Garden) in the locality. 
Suryachandra Development Society's Chairperson Gayatri Bhurtel shared that the Garden was built at the cost of Rs 750,000. 


Various persons providing cash or in-kind support for the construction of the Garden and establishment of Martyr Memorial Library and Revolving Fund were feted. 


In attendance at the programme were Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-5's Chairperson Dhan Bahadur Nepal, CPN ward no 5's Chairperson Bishnu Prasad Baral, Nepali Congress ward President Phadindra Raj Parajuli and Dr Saroj Koirala among others lauded the Society's contribution for the societal development. ---
