Fourteen injured in jeep accident

Baglung –Fourteen people were injured, four of them critically, when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Righa of Galgot Municipality-11 in Baglung district on Wednesday evening. 


The jeep with registration number Dha 1 Ja 149 was going towards Burtibang from Baglung Bazaar when it overturned into a drain on the road side on the Mid-hilly Pushpalal Highway, the Area Police Office Harichaur stated. 


Those sustaining serious injuries in the accident are Sangeeta Pun of Badigad rural municipality-5, Dilendra Budhamagar of Badigad rural municipality-9, Deepak Pun of Galkot municipality-10 and Ujir Magar of

Dhorpatan municipality-4. Magar is the former general secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ). 
They along with four others have been taken to Mnaipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara for treatment, following general treatment at local hospital. 


Police suspect that the accident happened as the driver lost control of the vehicle as it was carrying passengers more than its capacity. Further investigation is underway in this connection, according to police.
