NA Chair extends sorrow over losses caused by landslides in Parbat

Kathmandu –National Assembly (NA) chair Ganesh Timilsina has expressed his sorrow over the losses of life and properties in the landslide-related incidents atJaljala rural municipality in Parbat. 


Issuing a press statement today, the Upper House chair said he was saddened by the news about the death of Bikash Pariyar in the landslide occurred in the wee hours today. The 17-year-old boy, son of Bam Bahadur Pariyar, had gone missing after their stone and mud house was swept away by the landslide at 1 am. He was found dead later. 


Likewise, three people were injured when the house of Bhimlal Acharya collapsed due to a landslide at Baskot, Dhairing of Jaljala rural municipality. The incident took place at night when the people were asleep. Bhimlal himself and two other family members--Narayani Acharya and Tulasi Devi Acharya--were injured in the incident. 


Besides, five houses were completely destroyed and 15 families have been displaced by landslide triggered by incessant rains at Jaljala. 


Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the NA chair wished for speedy recovery of the injured. He has drawn the attention of the government and authorities concerned to take prompt measures for the effective treatment of injured and for relief and management of shelter for the survivors.---
