DPM Pokhrel seeks acceptance to verdict of people's representatives

Kathmandu –Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel has said that verdicts of people's representatives selected through the democratic procedures and a rule of law should be acceptable for all.

Inaugurating the second district assembly of the Kathmandu district here today, the Defense Minister said it was not the time to seek an issue just for protest, adding verdicts given by the people's representatives should be all accepted. "Protest for protest sake is not good for the nation, issues concerning nation's development and prosperity should not be taken by linking with a particular party," he said, speaking of the need of unity among all in efforts meant for development and social reforms.

He went on to say that demands put forth by Dr Govinda KC might be right and if they were genuine, might be addressed, wishing the senior orthopaedic surgeon, who has been on the fast-onto-death demanding reforms in medical education for over two weeks, a good health.

The DPM asserted that the Kathmandu District Coordination Committee should play a role to control the haphazard construction works going on in the district and systematise the settlements,
