'Save Journalist Rana' campaign launched

Baglung –Well-wishers of journalist Bijaya Rana have launched a fund collection campaign under the banner 'Save Journalist Rana' in support of his medical treatment. 


Journalist Rana suffers from aplastic anaemia and is facing financial difficulties in his treatment. He is currently under treatment at Civil Service Hospital in Kathmandu. It is said that around Rs 1.5 million would be required for his treatment. 


He is the executive editor of the 'Parisuchan', a vernacular weekly, published from Baglung. 
About 500 thousand rupees has been collected from various sources so far for his treatment. 
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Baglung chapter initiated the campaign which has collected Rs 200 thousand till now, chapter president Dil Shirish said. 


Fund raising campaign has also been started in Hong Kong, Japan, Bahrain, among other countries, for this purpose. Rs 100 thousand has been collected to date in Hong Kong, according to Tika Rana, a member of the campaign.
