Government clarifies VC Koirala did not have permission to go to Canada

Kathmandu –The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has made it clear that Vice Chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University, Prof Dr Kul Prasad Koirala, did not take permission as per the existing law to go abroad. 


Clarifying the government's view on the topic of Vice Chancellor Koirala being stopped from going to Canada to attend a programme, Spokesperson for the Ministry, Baikuntha Prasad Aryal, through a press release, said that Prof Koirala had not taken the permission from the line ministry before travelling abroad which he was required to do so as per the concurrent law. 


Police had stopped Koirala at Tribhuvan International Airport on July 7 from travelling to Canada.
