FNJ demands action against assaulter on Chaudhary

Kathmandu –The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has demanded action against those involved in physical assault on a journalist in Province No 5. 

Issuing a press statement here today, the FNJ's Secretary-General Ramesh Bista demanded investigation into the incident where a person named Jitendranath Shukla, Chairperson of Sammabari Mai Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district, physically assaulted Ram Bikash Chaudhary. 

FNJ has strongly condemned the incident and demanded the guilty in the attack to be brought to book. 

According to the press statement, Chaudhary, who is also the member of FNJ Province No 5 Committee member, had gone to the Rural Municipality to collect news on July 6 where the Rural Municipality Chairperson ill-treated him and threatened of ousting him from the locality.
