Officials who hide information will face action: NIC chief Banskota

Bhaktapur –Chief Commissioner of the National Information Commission (NIC) Krishna Hari Banskota has said that no official hiding information of public importance could escape legal action. 


Speaking in an interaction on Right to Information (RTI) by Bhaktapur chapter of FNJ today, Banskota added that some of the offices have not allocated information officers and the some information officers were also not providing information easily. 


He also stressed the importance of RTI and officials' cooperation to ensure the RTI. 
Similarly, District Coordination Committee chief Navraj Gelal, chief district officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta among other officials stressed on the importance of RTI. 


On the occasion, journalists Amar Bhuju, Bhagwati Thapa and Laxmi Garu were feted. 
The feted are newly elected FNJ valley province secretary and members respectively.
