Air ambulance service to lessen child mortality rate

Babiyachaur, Myagdi – Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Thamamaya Thapa Magar has said that the air ambulance service will be started to lessen the child mortality rate by reaching this service in remote areas. 


The pregnant women, newly-born babies and lactating mothers were losing their life due to lack of transport service during their health problems in remote areas. The service is expected to benefit these target groups. 


While inaugurating a free health camp at Darbang of Malika Rural Municipality in the district today, Minister Magar said that the helicopter sorties would be made to the remote areas for the immediate rescue of such vulnerable children and mothers to take them to hospital. 


She also said that the Ministry has allocated Rs 290.57 million for the programme in this fiscal year. 
Doctors Navraj Subedi, Sarita Gurung, Rupak Shrestha among other doctors and health persons are providing health service in the camp.
