Four rescued alive after 39 hours from tunnel of Arun-III

Sankhuwasabha –Four persons missing in a mudslide while constructing the tunnel of the Arun-III hydropower project have been rescued alive. 


The landslide had occurred at 8:40 on Friday evening in Phaksinda of Num near the dam site of the tunnel route. 
Those rescued are Pradip Shahi, 32, of Siuna Rural Municipality in Kalikot, Prem Pariyar, 44, of Chandannath Municipality-1 in Jumla, and Indian nationals Budhan Munda and Nanda Kishor, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyam Kumar Saru. 


Excavators and bulldozers were used for the rescue mission. All four have been taken to the District Hospital, Khandbari for health checkups.
