Power supply disrupted in Phungling Municipality for nine days

Taplejung –Regular power supply was disrupted in two wards of Phungling Municipality of Taplejung district for nine days. 

Power supply was disrupted in ward No. 10 and 11 of the municipality after a turbine of the Yaphre Micro Hydropower Project suffered some technical problems. 

The project said that power supply was halted since June 3 following the technical hassles in the turbine and it would take some more days to fix the turbine. 

After the load shedding caused due to problems in the turbine, the local residents said that they were forced to use kerosene lamp and have claimed that the poor management on the part of project is to blame for such problems. A total of 945 households are using the electricity produced from the micro hydropower project with the capacity of 95 kilowatt.
