Biratnagar – A pedestrian was killed after getting rammed by a truck at an inner road section in Buddhiganga rural municipality – 3 of Morang.
Naina Devi Chaudhary of estimated 45 years of age from ward no 4 died on the spot following the impact, said Area Police Office, Nimuwa.
Police have detained the truck driver and impounded the vehicle with registration plate no Na 7 Kha 7019.
Fire breaks out
Livestock and properties estimated at Rs 50,000 were gutted in a sudden fire which broke out at 11 pm last night at Belbari – 7 in Morang.
The fire quickly spread through the house belonging to one Dil Maya Thakuri and destroyed clothes, food commodities and crockery. Ducks and chickens in the farm were killed in the fatal fire, according to the Province 1 Police Office, Biratnagar said. The fire was taken under control by the locals with help from police officers.
