CAAN confirms death of both crew members in Makalu air crash

Surkhet – The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Office in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) confirmed that a cargo aircraft of the Makalu Air which had been missing since this morning crashed in Humla, leaving all two crew members dead. 


They have been identified as Captain Kiran Bhattarai and Aaditya Nepali. The single engine aircraft with the call sign 9N-AJU C208B (Cessana) was found crashed at Kharpunath Rural Municipality some 7.7 Nautical miles from Simikot Airport in Humla. The aircraft that left for Simikot Airport from Surkhet at 6:12 am lost its last contact with the Nepalgunj tower at 6:27 am.
