Nawalparasi – A motorcyclist was killed and a pillion rider was critically injured in a road mishap at Kawasoti-16 of East-West Highway in eastern Nawalparasi this moring.
Police said that motorcyclist Til Prasad Thapa, 31, of Madhya Bindu Municipality-12 died after his motorcycle collided with a truck.
Thapa breathed his last at Dumkauli Primary Health Post in course of treatment, it is said. The accident occurred after the motorcycle (Lu 16 Pa 2849) collided with the parked truck (Lu 1 Kha 5384).
Pillion rider Danda Bahadur Pun, 31, of Kawasoti Municipality-2 has sustained serious injuries in the incident. Police said that Pun is receiving treatment in a medical college in Chitwan.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian was killed after a bus hit her at Simaldhap of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-7 in Chitwan district.
According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, 70-year-old Dhan Maya Gurung died after the Mugling bound bus (Na 5 Kha 3138) hit her, leaving her critically wounded.
Gurung died on Tuesday evening while receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College. Police have held the bus driver after the incident.
