Rafting on Kaligandaki, becoming choice of tourists

Pokhara –Kaligandaki River is becoming the destination of domestic and foreign tourists wishing to enjoy adventurous tourism.

 

The river is gradually stealing hearts of tourists arriving here for rafting. According to tourism entrepreneur Tek Bahadur Magar, the river continues to welcome an increasing number of tourists since the past few years. Tourist flow has increased here in the recent years. 


Season for rafting in the river begins from the second week of March. 
Two to 12 groups arrive here daily to take the experience of water rafting. The flow of tourists increases during holidays. 


Tourism entrepreneur Milan Tiwari said rafting in the river has been included in the package programmes of tourism business here.

 

Rafting routes beginning from two points Beni and Lasti of Myagdi get an end near the reservoir of the Kaligandaki Hydro Power Project 'A' via situating at the trijunction of Syangja, Parbat and Gulmi districts going through Nayapul and Maldhunga of Kushma.

 

It takes three days to complete rafting along this route while the route from Lasti to Nayapul is quite shorter and it is the choice of tourists who want to enjoy a daylong trip. (photo available)
