Chitwan – One person was killed and 19 passengers were injured in a bus – truck collision this morning at Syauli Bazaar along the Narayangadh – Muglin route.
The District Police Office, Chitwan has identified the deceased as 44 – year – old Chandra Bahadur Timalsena from Dhiyal – 9 of Makawanpur. He was the assistant driver of the ill-fated bus.
The bus (Na 6 Kha 1521) en route to Kathmandu from Itahari collided with a truck (Na 5 Kha 7528) coming from the opposite direction and heading towards Narayangadh from Kathmandu at 6 am in Syauli Bazaar of Ichhakamana rural municipality – 5.
Among the injured five are being treated at the Chitwan Medical College while the rest were rushed to College of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital Bharatpur.The accident took place when the bus was overtaking a vehicle in front of it, police said.
