Surunga (Jhapa) - The 3rd Jhapa Goldcup football tournament, that carries the largest prize money outside the capital, is to begin from coming March 3.
A total of 10 teams including one from Sikkim of India will be competing in the event to take place at the Domlal Rajbansi stadium in Birtamode.
According to organising committee chair Mahendra Giri, Manang Marsyangdi, Three Star Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police, Armed Police, Sahara Club Pokhara, Rupandehi-11, Far-west-11, Kailali and Sikkim United Club, India as well host club RumPum Jhapa-11 are taking part in the competition.
The winner team will walk home with a cash prize of Rs. 1.25 million while the runner-up team will win Rs. 600,000.
