Mahendranagar, Dhanusha, Feb 4 (RSS): The Province Assembly of Province No 2 is having its first historic meeting here at the Education Office and Teachers' Training Centre-turned province assembly at Kuwarampur, Janakpurdham today.
Furniture and infrastructure were readied for the assembly working throughout the night. The building where the assembly is taking place has been painted and the assembly hall freshly refurnished.
A huge portrait painting of Mithila art has been placed on the main entrance to the hall and the rostrum decorated with garlands.
One hundred and seventy seven chairs have been arranged in the meeting hall. Out of the 177 chairs, 107 have been set aside for the province assembly members and the rest for the province parliament employees and VIP guests, said Mahesh Saha, an engineer at the Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office, who is responsible for arranging the furniture and other structures at the meeting hall.
He said arrangements have also been made for live coverage of the assembly session on a large screen to be placed outside the building so that the general public can observe the assembly proceedings.
Fifty police personnel have been deputed for the security purpose. Of these police personnel, 21 have been assigned as marshals while the rest will be guarding the assembly building outside.
