Pokhara as sports city in government's top priority: Sports Minister

Pokhara,  Minister for Youth and Sports Rajan KC has said that developing Pokhara as a sports city is in high priority of the government. 

Inaugurating the 21st Women's and 31st Men's Volleyball Championship in Pokhara today, he said big investment is to be made for construction of sports infrastructures in order to project this city internationally as a sports city by chalking out a master plan. 

The Minister for Youth and Sports went on to say that the country was now poised for political stability with the end of the transition following the conduction of all three levels of elections. He added that the country should now be taken ahead on the path of development and prosperity. 

On the occasion, Minister KC honoured Prem Prasad Tulachan, advisor of Nepal Volleyball Association who has been elected the House of Representatives member from Mustang district, and volleyball player Nabin Kumar Gurung. 

Association central president Manoranjan Sharma presided over the inauguration programme. 

The Championship is organised by the Nepal Volleyball Association and coordinated by the National Sports Council. 
The Championship will conclude on December 30. Eastern Region, Central Region, Western Region, Mid-Western Region, Far-Western Region, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force and Tribhuvan Army Club of Nepal Army towards male and female category have been participating in the tournament.
